President points out need to boost Kazakhstan's industrial development
Largescale and innovative projects ensuring the country’s economic growth for years to come need a priority support from the state. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said it at today’s extended meeting of the Cabinet, Kazinform News Agency reports.

He reminded of the establishment of the Ministry of Industry and Construction last year which “should develop certain measures and approaches to stimulate new high-technological productions.”
The list of breakthrough projects needs to be seriously refined. These productions should change the structure of economy, create a solid industrial frame and points of technological growth. Many projects have no certain sources of financing. Largescale and innovative projects ensuring the country’s economic growth for years to come need a priority support from the state, he stressed.
The President noted that the Cabinet should boost a constructive dialogue with the international financial institutions, transnational corporations and domestic business.
He stressed the necessity of drastic modernization of the existing productions, with metallurgical complexes coming first for their poor condition.
The reason is clear – lack of investments in modernization and expansion of production, which results in loss of added value and quality jobs, he said.
