President: One of priority directions of SCO activity - combating terrorism

TASHKENT. June 11. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Combating terrorism remains to be one of the priority directions of the SCO activity. President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said it at the enlarged session of the SCO Council of Heads on June 11.
"The SCO Regional anti-terrorist structure (RATS) actively operates in this direction. Taking into account Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE, there is good opportunity for strengthening contacts between the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS and the OSCE Anti-Terrorism Unit", the Head of the State stressed.
A the Kazakh President emphasized, important significance has development of contractual legal framework of the anti-terrorism cooperation. "Kazakhstan welcomes signing of the Agreement between the SCO governments on cooperation in the combating terrorism", the President said.
