President on two-day visit to Karaganda oblast

KARAGANDA. July 1. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has arrived in Karaganda oblast with a two-day working visit today. Vice Prime Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev, Minister of Defense Adilbek Dzhaksybekov are accompanying the President in his trip.

Governor of the oblast Serik Akhmetov met N. Nazarbayev at the airport.

On arrival the President headed to the Karaganda Foundry and Engineering Plant - an affiliate of Kazakhmys Corporation where he will get familiarized with the activity of KazBelAZ LLC Kazakh-Belarusian joint venture.

On Friday, July 2, N. Nazarbayev will visit Temirtau to join the festive events dedicated to celebration of the Kazakhstan Magnitka. N. Nazarbayev will attend a ceremony of cast-iron production at the metallurgical works of ArcelorMittalTemirtau Company after which he will congratulate the metallurgists on the holiday at the Palace of Culture. The President will also hand out state awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a group of workers who has made a great personal contribution to construction of Magnitka, the town of Temirtau and development of the country's industry.
