As earlier reported, Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, arrived in Kazakhstan for an official visit. Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and Péter Szijjártó held restricted and extended-attendance talks.

Nurtleu said Kazakhstan is interested in the development of relations with Budapest. Bilateral relations revived over the past 30 years are notable for substantial political dialogue, trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and broad cultural and humanitarian ties. In particular, mutual visits of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán strengthen political dialogues, he told journalists following the talks.

The Kazakh Foreign Minister announced President of Hungary Tamás Sulyok and Parliament Speaker László Kövér are expected to visit Kazakhstan this year.
