PETROPAVLOVSK. August 27. KAZINFORM Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has arrived in northern Kazakhstan today to meet with producers of agricultural goods and discuss this year's harvesting campaign.
The harvesting campaign has recently been delayed due to heavy rains in Kazakhstan, however, it is to start in a matter of days.
The North Kazakhstan region is one of the biggest crop-producing provinces in the country as it harvests one-third of the total crops volume every year. The cultivated area in northern Kazakhstan has covered 4.4 million hectares, including 3.6 million hectares of grain crops.
In an attempt to diversify the crop production in the region, this year the authorities have increased plantings of oil and forage crops.
Agrarians in northern Kazakhstan feel the support of the state in the development of the regional agro-industrial complex.
