President Nazarbayev receives rector of Kazakh National Agrarian University

During the meeting, Mr. Yesspolov briefed President Nazarbayev on the current activities of the university and current state of agriculture education and science. The President, in turn, stressed the importance of upping the ante of agrarian universities in the country. "Introducing research at these universities is of paramount importance for the development of agricultural science in general. There are three agrarian universities in Kazakhstan. It is necessary to define in what form they will conduct research with the participation of the bodies concerned," Nursultan Nazarbayev said. Rector Yesspolov also talked about ongoing transformation of his tertiary institution into the agrarian research university. He said the project is implemented in line with international standards of strategic planning with the help of foreign experts. In conclusion, President Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions with regard to integration of education and science in the agro-industrial complex.
