President Nazarbayev receives Environment Minister
Minister Kapparov reported to the Head of State on the results of work in 2013 and plans for the upcoming period.
President Nazarbayev said the ministry should pay utmost attention to its new responsibilities as it is to supervise the committees for water resources, hunting, forestry and fishery sectors. The Kazakh leader also pointed out the lack of highly skilled specialists in the sphere of water resources management.
"Kazakhstan needs to elaborate its own well-balanced and comprehensive approach to the development of 'green economy' in the country taking into account the best international practices," the President added.
During the meeting the Head of State was also debriefed on the work of the Kazakh environment ministry in the field of 'green economy' and the development of water resources and household waste management programs.
In conclusion, President Nazarbayev tasked Minister Kapparov to keep working in the priority directions and commence the implementation of the said programs.
