President Nazarbayev receives Economy Minister

ASTANA. February 20. KAZINFORM Today, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev, Kazinform was told by the presidential press service.

In the course of the meeting, the sides touched upon the issues of further economic development, budget policy and effective handling of public funds.

Minister Dossayev briefed President Nazarbayev on results of work of the ministry in 2012 and presented key directions of work during the period ahead.

The Kazakh President noted that currently the ministry is responsible for the problems of budget policy.

"You've got to have a clear vision of how we can adjust effective budget planning taking into account the industrial-innovative development program, support small and medium businesses. The ministry plans and coordinates economic policy of the country; it is also busy with the preparations for the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017. There are a lot of tasks to be fulfilled and they need to be fulfilled in a timely manner," Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed.
