President Nazarbayev receives Astana Mayor

ASTANA. February 28. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Akim of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov on Tuesday, the Presidential press service told Kazinform.
Tasmagambetov told about the activities in the field of architecture and urban planning of the capital. He said that it was planned to erect the monument to the victims of famine. This monument will be built in order to perpetuate the memory of the tragedy, when during the Soviet forced collectivization and confiscation in 1932-1933 millions of people were killed, and more than a million compatriots were forced to flee their homeland.
It is also planned to construct a monument to the great worker of culture of the Kazakh people, folk musician and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, who had great influence on the development of Kazakh musical culture.
