President Nazarbayev plans to visit Turkey this year

The news came at the credentials receiving ceremony at Akorda Presidential Residence on Tuesday (August 28).

President Nazarbayev received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Kazakhstan Omer Burhan Tuzel on Tuesday in Astana and announced his wish to pay a visit to Turkey in 2012 after receiving credentials from all foreign envoys.

"Turkey was the first country to acknowledge Kazakhstan's independence and for that we are thankful to its Government. It is of paramount importance to continue developing the commercial and economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey. I really hope my visit to Turkey will be fruitful," N. Nazarbayev noted.

After the ceremony Omer Burhan Tuzel told a briefing it was the first time he would take up the post as an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Turkey and was happy with his appointment to Kazakhstan.
