President launched second stage of Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant in Pavlodar
Over nine thousand people have gathered at the square in front of the plant's administration for the meeting.
Governor of Pavlodar oblast Bakytzhan Sagintayev said that today the Aksu Ferroalloys plant had launched its 26th smelting furnace after a capital repair. Kazenergokabel JSC launched its second stage which is the tenth innovative project implemented in the region since the year beginning within the Industrialization Map.
President of Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant JSC Almaz Ibragimov reported to the Head of the State on completion of construction of the second stage of the plant. This is the first ever plant in Kazakhstan producing 250 thousand tons of metallic aluminum per year.
After surveying the workshops N. Nazarbayev pressed start button and said "I have arrived in Pavlodar to rejoice over launch of this plant with you. The world demand for aluminum grows day by day therefore we need the third stage of the enterprise. Today our major challenge is industrialization of the country, establishment of new productions. This year Kazakhstan plans to implement 144 projects. By 2020 we must increase production by 30%-40% and raise our economy".
Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant JSC enters the ENRC group of companies. This is one of the largest projects implemented in sovereign Kazakhstan. It has become a key element of the country's metallurgical aluminum cluster.
The launch complex was officially put into operation in December 2007 with the participation of the Head of the State. The first stage with 125, 000 t/y capacity was built ahead schedule. The second stage with 250, 000 t/y capacity was erected ahead schedule too.
