ANA. September 1. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The law-making activity in Kazakhstan must be improved and brought into compliance with the European standards. Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has made it public at the joint sitting of the Parliament Houses in Astana today.
N. Nazarbayev reminded of Kazakhstan's oncoming chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010 which according to him implies great responsibility on Kazakhstan and opens new opportunities.
"The deputy corps has to establish contacts with their foreign colleagues, participate in work of various OSCE commissions and groups and its Parliamentary Assembly. We should use this opportunity to study experience of the parliaments of the OSCE member-countries", N. Nazarbayev noted.
"The Parliament must be actively engaged in fulfillment of the country's functions as the OSCE presiding country", he stressed.
