President invited Turkish businessmen to partake in Kazakhstan's industrialization program

ANBUL.  October 23. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev invited the Turkish businessmen to take part in Kazakhstan's industrialization program.

"I would like to invite Turkish business leaders to Kazakhstan", N. Nazarbayev said at the Istanbul business forum today.

"Earlier we depended on oil production, while today our country focuses on industrial-innovative development of economy", he noted.

"Since 2010 Kazakhstan will launch industrial program; we have necessary funds and potential for this", he added.

The Head of the State proposed Turkey's businessmen to work on joint projects in agriculture, petrochemical industry, infrastructure and production of building materials. "To date we import 80% of construction materials", the President said and added that over 2, 000 joint Kazakh-Turkish ventures are working in different spheres of Kazakhstan economy to date.

"Over the years of independence Kazakhstan has attracted USD 95 bln foreign investments and USD 100 bln internal ones", N. Nazarbayev reminded. "30% of them fall on the USA, 40% - Europe and the rest part came from Asia. In spite of the crisis period Kazakhstan has attracted USD 40 bln from the Arab countries, China, South Korea and other countries of the world. USD 13 bln of them are direct investments".  Besides, the President informed of signing a package of documents worth USD 6 bln within French President N. Sarkozy's visit to Kazakhstan. "All of these  funds will be spent for Kazakhstan's industrial-innovative development. 220 projects will be realized under this program", he stressed.

The President also reminded of Kazakhstan's and Russia's intentions to participate in construction of Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
