President has sole power to call early presidential elections - Constitutional Council

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan has adopted a regulatory resolution regarding early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the Constitutional Council, only the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the sole power to call the snap presidential elections in line with the paragraph 3-1 of the Article 41 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Constitutional Council also emphasized that the dates of the presidential elections cannot coincide with the dates of elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
