President decrees to grant Zhetygen village in Almaty region new name and status

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev decreed to turn Zhetygen village in Almaty region into Alatau town, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.
The President signed the decree to change the administrative and territorial structure of Almaty region.
The town of Alatau will not only get a new name, but will also be granted the status of the town of regional subordinance.
The Government of Kazakhstan was tasked to assume necessary steps to implement the decree.
The decree took effect upon signing.
