President charged to reduce infant mortality

ASTANA. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev charged today to take measures to reduce infant mortality rates in the Karaganda region.

"147 maternal and infant deaths were recorded for the past seven months of 2014 in the region," deputy governor of the region Zhanara Bekbanova told at today's meeting on socioeconomic development of region. According to her, congenital pathologies caused 80% of deaths. Only 8,5% of them died due to medical error.
