President chaired session of Security Council in Akorda today

The issues regarding further measures to be taken on strengthening stability in religious sphere were discussed. Head of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan Aslan Musin presented a report on the agenda. The Presidential press service informs.

The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan had reached a lot over the years of independence. Thanks to the unity of the people of Kazakhstan, strengthening of interethnic and interconfessional accord, political stability of sovereign Kazakhstan the economy of Kazakhstan is steadily developing, live standards are higher than they were before, per capita GDP is one of the highest among all new independent states.

It was also emphasized that Kazakhstan was a secular state preaching freedom of religion. Though, executive bodies are still responsible for regulation of relations in religious sphere.

In this regard, the President gave instructions to law-enforcement and other state agencies regarding detection and immediate response to manifestations of religious extremists. Astana and Almaty Mayors as well as regional akims should strengthen educational and preventive activities and control over the compliance of religious organizations with the law. A great amount of practical tasks is given to the Agency for Religious Affairs.
