Preparations for III Congress of World Math Society underway in Almaty

A regular session of the organizational committee for the III Congress chaired by Principal of al-Faraby Kazakh National University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov has taken place today at the Al-Faraby Kazakh National University. The final program of the Congress was approved at the session. The Congress is expected to gather over 600 spokesmen from the leading research and scientific institutes of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, the USA and other counties. The Congress aimed to develop ties between the scientists of different countries, to discuss achievements and prospects of the development in mathematics, the use of information technology in scientific research work as well as to strengthen international contacts between the scientists of the Turkic world. The Turkish World Mathematical Society was founded in 1999 and unites mathematicians from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Iran, China, Mongolia, USA and European countries. The first Congress of the Turkish World Mathematicians was held in Firat University (Elazig, Turkey) in 1999. The second Congress was held in Sakarya University (Adapazari, Turkey) in 2007.
