Preparation to 2011 Asian Winter Games discussed in Almaty

ALMATY. August 20. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ The Organization Committee of the VII Asian Winter Games 2011 has held a sitting chaired by Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov today.

Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan Talgat Yermegiyayev, representatives of the Directorate of the 2011 Asian Games, central executive bodies of the city, structural departments of the Almaty akimat and public utilities took part in the session. To date all works on construction of the Asian Games facilities are underway on schedule.

As earlier reported, by the decision of the Kazakh President the closing ceremony of the Games will be held in Almaty. In this regard, the preparation to this ceremony was one of the main issues of the sitting. A.Yessimov laid emphasis on the development of its concept and scenario.

The members of the sitting also discussed the procedure of holding of test competitions. The first test competitions are planned to be held at the international ski jumping complex on September 25 this year.
