Population of Kazakhstan closes in on 17 mln

ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM "According to the official statistic, population of Kazakhstan will reach 17 million in the near future," Chairman of the Kazakh Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov informed at a briefing.
"In particular, population of the country has numbered 16 million 911 thousand on January 1, 2013. The population of the whole country increased by 236.5 thousand, or 1.4% in 2012," the head of the Agency added.
