Pope Francis slightly improving, slept well all night - Vatican
Pope Francis “rested well, all night," Agenzia Nova reports citing the Vatican press office.

“The clinical conditions of the Holy Father in their criticality” have shown “a slight improvement” yesterday. There have been no “episodes of asthmatic respiratory crises. Some laboratory tests have improved. Monitoring of the mild renal insufficiency does not cause concern”.
Yesterday, a crowd of faithful gathered, despite the humidity and a few drops of rain, in St. Peter's Square in Rome to pray for the health of Pope Francis, who is hospitalized in the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome. The cardinals resident in Rome, the heads of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia and the entire diocese of Rome participated in the recitation of the rosary. The prayer was presided over by Cardinal Pietro Parolin. A single spot of light illuminated the Vatican Secretary of State kneeling before the image of the Virgin Mary. Among the faithful, behind the barriers, were many foreigners who had come to Rome for the Jubilee and who had not imagined they would experience the dismay of Pope Francis' illness up close.
In front of the Gemelli Polyclinic, several faithful wanted to leave a message for the Pontiff at the foot of the statue of John Paul II. “Get well soon,” reads a balloon, while some drawings read “Get well soon, Pope Francis,” “Come on Francis, we are all for you.”
Several people, passing in front of the monument, stop and gather in a moment of prayer.
“I’m following the story in the newspapers and on television, today I had to make some important visits, but at the same time I wanted to say a prayer for the Pope and for all the sick people,” said a man of about 50 years old after lighting a candle.
Earlier it was reported that Pope Francis had been hospitalized for ‘complex clinical situation'.
