Political parties and NGOs have a lot in common - Chief of OSCE Center in Astana

ASTANA. November 26. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The role of political parties as well as non-governmental organizations come down to serving to the nation, raising its well-being, ensuring protection of the citizens' rights and observance of the principles of democracy. Alexander Kelchevskiy, Head of the OSCE Center in Astana has said it at the roundtable entitled Interrelations and interaction of political parties and non-governmental organizations of Kazakhstan in the context of political communication. The event is organized by the Center together with the Public Fund on development of parliamentary in Kazakhstan.
According to Kelchevskiy the NGOs promote creation of active civil society and attract the citizens' and state's attention to the most important social problems. The NGOs also represent interests of various groups in solution of the problems and make governmental activities more transparent.
"Although the political parties focus on a wide range of issues and NGOs work on solution of certain tasks in social and political spheres they have a lot in common", A. Kelchevskiy says.
