Polish virtuoso plays piano for 101 hours, sets Guinness record

WARSAW. February 1. KAZINFORM Polish pianist Romuald Koperski got a thunderous ovation after he finished his 101-hour piano recital in Poland's northern city of Gdansk, setting a new world record for the longest piano playing; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
The 54-year-old musician started playing at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday and finished Sunday afternoon, making it into the Guinness Book. His record-breaking recital consisted of classical musical compositions, jazz fragments and famous movie soundtracks and lasted for a total of 101 hours, 8 minutes and 3 seconds.
The musician was allowed to repeat musical fragments once in four hours, with breaks between the fragments not exceeding 30 seconds. He was also allowed to take a 5-minute break once in an hour; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
