It is estimated that the street value of this quantity of ice is worth up to 42 million AU dollars (43.97 million U.S. dollars).

Three Sydney men have been charged in the operation that began earlier September when Customs and Border Protection officers acting on a tip-off, the AFP said.

Customs officers inspected a shipping container that had arrived into Sydney from Hong Kong carrying an outdoor dining set.

X-rays and a physical unpack of the container located around 70 one-kg packages hidden inside the frames of five lounges, the AFP said.

The AFP subsequently conducted an operation in Sydney on Thursday after the furniture was accessed by three men from Fairfield, a western suburb of Sydney.

AFP Manager of Serious and Organized Crime David Sharpe said the charges were a great result for the two agencies.
