Police detain four more people in Turkish match-fixing probe

ISTANBUL. July 29. KAZINFORM Four more people were detained Friday in Turkey's largest city Istanbul as part of an ongoing investigation into match-fixing scandals; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The detainees include two officials from top Turkish club Fenerbahce and a former referee, local media reported.
Turkish football has been mired in a scandal since police launched an operation in more than a dozen cities and held more than 50 people on July 3 to investigate alleged match-fixing during matches last season.
Top officials from high-profile clubs are among those detained in the police sting.
The Turkish Football Federation on Monday postponed the start of the 2011-12 football season to September in the wake of the scandal.
European fixtures in which Turkish teams are involved have not been affected and have been taking place as scheduled.
