Poland-Kazakhstan East-West Forum

WASHINGTON.  August 4. KAZINFORM I believe that talks between Polish and Kazakh companies will result in contacts that will lead to new investment projects. This will upgrade our commercial cooperation to the level corresponding to the business potential and opportunities in Poland and Kazakhstan - Polish Deputy Minister of the Economy Rafa? Baniak told the 2009 East-West Forum Poland Kazakhstan in Warsaw.

Deputy Minister Rafa? Baniak said that Kazakhstan was a very important business partner for Poland. - The Polish government's appointment of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Economy Waldemar Pawlak as co-chair of the Polish-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation is one sign of it - Baniak emphasized.

He also highlighted the broad scope of areas in which there is the potential to intensify mutual economic cooperation. We see Kazakhstan as a very important partner in the implementation of projects that could Europe with energy - he said. We are also watching with interest the ambitious economic plans of that country regarding the development of modern technologies - Baniak noted. He also spoke about the "Road to Europe" programme that testifies of the willingness to promote business relations between Kazakhstan and the EU.

The deputy minister also referred to the new conditions of the Polish-Kazakh cooperation concerning the implementation of the Customs Union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. This will open up new opportunities for our economic relations - he said. We are ready to share our experience in adapting the economy to EU requirements, as well as solutions attractive for direct foreign investment - he added.

The International Entrepreneurs' Meeting East-West 2009 Poland-Kazakhstan was organized by the Polish-Kazakh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the City of Zamo?? and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Warsaw. The purpose of the East-West Forum was to exchange experience between companies, help deliver joint business projects and encourage foreign businesses to invest in Poland, Kazinform refers to News Bulletin #25 of the Kazakhstan Embassy in the USA.
