Poland and Kazakhstan eye deeper regional cooperation

ASTANA. July 11. KAZINFORM Kazakhstani Ambassador to Poland Erik Utembayev paid a visit to Katowice where he had a meeting with Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship Miroslaw Sekula, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

The Kazakh diplomat briefed his interlocutor on the main provisions of the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy, local self-government reform based on Poland's experience and implemented in the country, program of advanced industrial and innovative development and new possibilities for Polish investors in Kazakhstan.

Marshal Sekula praised socioeconomic development of Kazakhstan that has been reached under the wise leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. "We are delighted to see quick pace of development in Kazakhstan and are keen to establish direct contacts with Kazakhstani provinces," he noted.

During the meeting the sides agreed to organize the first ever Regional Forum of Kazakhstan and Poland. In addition, production of mining equipment, medicine, science, education, transport and logistics were named as the most promising areas of cooperation between the two countries.

In conclusion, M. Sekula was invited to visit Kazakhstan as a part of the business delegation of the Voivodeship. The head of Silesian Voivodeship expressed hope Kazakhstani entrepreneurs will take part in the European Congress of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises in Katowice this September.
