Pneumonia kills 88 people in E Kazakhstan in 2024
The number of pneumonia cases in the East Kazakhstan region has increased almost 2.5fold, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The regional health department reports that approximately 5,000 patients have sought treatment for pneumonia at hospitals in the region over the past 11 months.
In most cases, pneumonia was caused by bacteria and viruses, less often by fungi and parasites. Pneumonia is most often provoked by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus, the department reported.
In addition, 54 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the region during the reporting period.
Doctors underscore the significance of prompt diagnosis and timely medical intervention to prevent complications and mitigate adverse outcomes in patients.
