PM voiced out President's instructions on liquidation of flood consequences in Almaty oblast
The Commission consists of Minister of Emergencies Vladimir Bozhko, Minister of Healthcare Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev, Chairman of the Agency for Construction and Housing-Utilities Serik Nokin, Vice Minister of Transport and Communications Dulat Kuterbekov, Vice Minister of Finances Berik Sholpankulov, representatives of the ministries labor and social protection, agriculture, education and science as well the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On the second half of the day the Prime Minister and the members of the Commission arrived in Taldykorgan after which they visited Kyzylagash village where they familiarized themselves with the situation and the course of rescue work.
As the Emergencies Ministry informs, the accident took place on March 11 at 22:20. The failure of the dam in Kyzylagash was caused by heavy rains and air temperature rise. The village of Kyzylagash remained trapped in flood waters. Earlier the residents of the village were informed of the flood and were evacuated to the regional center.
To date the residents of Kyzylagash have been provided with life support package including beds, blankets, food and medical care.
The Prime Minister visited one of the hotels of Taldykorgan city where the victims of the dam failure were accommodated. K. Massimov expressed condolences upon death of people and said the victims of the flood would be provided with all necessary support.
After then the PM held a sitting of the operational headquarters at which he voiced out the President's tasks on liquidation of the emergency and prevention of such cases in other regions.
In addition, K. Massimov charged the Minister of Healthcare to take measures on rendering first medical aid to the population. The Premier also charged to provide support to the families and relatives of the dead.
Alongside the Head of the Government stressed importance of provision of non-stop education of the children evacuated from the flood-affected area.
The Prime Minister charged the Ministry of Finances to calculate the amount of financial aid for the victims and take allocation of resources under tough control "in order to let everyone receive this money".
The PM also charged the Agency for Construction and Housing-Utilities as well as akims of all regions and Astana, Almaty cities to help in restoration of the village and construction of housing for the flood victims.
Minister of Emergencies V. Bozhko and Governor of Almaty oblast S. Umbetov were commissioned to develop an action plan on liquidation of emergency and submit it for the Government's approval.
Upon completion of the sitting the PM charged the Ministry of Emergencies as well as local Akimat to monitor the flood situation in dangerous areas in Almaty and East Kazakhstan regions.
Chairman of the Governmental Commission V. Bozhko and members of the operational headquarters stayed in Almaty oblast for implementing the taken measures. Prime Minister Massimov took the work on liquidation of emergencies under his special control.
