PM receives French, US, Qatari ambassadors

Within the meeting of the Prime Minister with French Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alen Kuanon a number of issues of further development of the Kazakh-French relations was discussed. K.Massimov emphasized that the strategic partnership treaty signed in 2008 within the President Nazarbayev?s visit to Paris opened new horizons of interaction. It was noted that a next important step in development of bilateral relations must be a return visit of President of France Nicolas Sarkozy to Kazakhstan, which is expected in spring this year. In the context of preparation for the upcoming visit of the French President some issues on bilateral trade-economic relations were discussed. Within the meeting with US Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan Richard Hougland issues of the current economic situation and measures on stabilization of economy taken by the Government were discussed. The sides touched upon a theme on Kazakhstan?s accession to the WTO and some issues regarding development of energy cooperation in the Caspian region. K.Massimov also held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar Nasser Rashid Mohammed Al-Noaimi. The parties exchanged opinions on issues of further development of trade-economic relations and strengthening of cultural-humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Qatar.
