PM Massimov invites Malaysian investors to participate in Kazakh industrialization projects

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Government talks between Kazakhstan and Malaysia have been held today by prime ministers of the two countries Karim Massimov and Najib Tun Razak, who arrived in Astana for an official visit.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues connected with trade and economic cooperation.

Karim Massimov noted that Kazakhstan is successfully implementing the state program of forced industrial innovative development, and invited Malaysian investors to take active part in it, the primeminister.kz reports.

According to him, promising areas for cooperation are the development of oil and gas and mining sectors, manufacturing industry, and cooperation in the field of education, SMEs and tourism.

"The Government of Kazakhstan has drafted a law that would give new opportunities to investors, such as the stability of contracts for 10 years, tax incentives, attraction of foreign specialists," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted.

Massimov also invited the Malaysian side to take part in the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 in Astana.

In turn, Najib Tun Razak said that the current cooperation between the two countries indicates a high level of relations.

"Kazakhstan is experiencing strong economic growth. I'm sure we have a great potential for further development of bilateral cooperation," the Prime Minister of Malaysia added.

Following the talks, a number of documents was signed. In particular, akimat of Mangistau region signed framework agreements with the companies Kazakhstan Methanol Limited and Kenmakmur Holding Sdn. Bhd., according to which the region plans to build factories for the production of methanol and liquefied natural gas.

Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the akimat of Zhambyl region and Agrostan Farms Sdn. Bhd. on establishing cattle farms.
