PM gave start to construction of Thermal Power Plant 3 and 220 kW overhead transmission line around Astana

"President Nursultan Nazarbayev gave a certain instruction to the Government and the Akim of the city to pay special attention to ensuring stable energy supply to Astana", K. Massimov said at the ceremony.

In his opinion, construction of the Thermal Power Plant 3 and 220 kW overhead transmission line will let ensure stable development of the city and implementation of industrial projects.

Besides, the Head of the Government charged the contractors to put the projects into operation in time.

Construction of the Thermal Power Plant 3 is to be finished in 2018. Its cost is KZT 193 bln 7 mln.

Construction of 220 kW overhead transmission line with three substations around Astana will allow increasing transmission capacity of the electrical networks of the capital city and neighbor areas up to 1, 200 MW. The project amounting to KZT 38 bln 6 mln is planned to be accomplished by 2014. The length of the overhead transmission line will make 152 km and it will run through the territory of Arshaly, Tselinograd and Shortandy districts.
