PM Bektenov tasks emergencies ministry to ensure constant seismic monitoring across Kazakhstan
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov tasked the emergencies ministry to ensure constant seismic monitoring across the country. He said it at today’s sitting of the Cabinet, Kazinform News Agency reports.
"All the services – the emergencies ministry and other governmental authorities responded to the incident. This time, siren and warning system were activated in a timely manner. The residents were evacuated to the reception centers.The ministry of emergencies should ensure permanent monitoring over the seismic situation across the country. The ministry also needs to ensure appropriate monitoring of mudflow and avalanche situations in the mountainous areas of the country. If there is a threat of an emergency, take measures to respond to them," the Prime Minister said.
