Plane crash in Aktau: 1,032 calls received on hotlines
Works on dismantling the plane structures are underway at the crash site now, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Ministry of Emergencies.

“306 people, 101 pieces of equipment and specialized vehicles, two aircraft and six canine units are involved in liquidation works. The employees of the ministry of emergencies, ministry of internal affairs, the national guard of the ministry of defense, as well as the workers of the firefighting service, the Center for Disaster Medicine, ambulance crews, local executive agencies and the ministry of emergencies of Azerbaijan joined the works,” a statement from the Kazakh ministry of emergencies reads.

Psychologists of the Center for Disaster Medicine are providing support to the relatives of affected.
29 people including three minors were rescued and rushed to the hospitals of Aktau.


“According to verified data, bodies of 38 victims, including six nationals of Kazakhstan and three crew members, were transported to the local forensic examinations center. Bodies of seven people have been identified. The rescuers of the emergencies ministry also found the plane’s black box. Twenty-four watch has been organized at the crash site,” the ministry adds.
The governmental commission set up to investigate into the plane crash cause, arrived in Aktau.

The ministry officials noted that 1,032 calls have been received on the emergency hotlines and by psychological and information support services.
The Baku-Grozny flight J2-8243 operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) crashed near Aktau on December 25.
