Perspectives of electric power industry development discussed in Astana

Members of the Kazakh Parliament, representatives of the People's Democratic Party "Nur Otan", government agencies, national companies, region's  akimats , and international financial institutions, energy companies, research and development institutes, manufacturers of power equipment and electrical products were invited to the meeting, Kazinform has learnt from  the press service of the MINT RK.

In his welcome speech, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan  Asset Issekeshev noted that given the ongoing new industrial policy it was necessary to ensure rapid development of electric power industry.

A.Issekeshev also emphasized the intensive growth of coal production should be achieved through the use of the most up-to-date, fuel-efficient, safe and environment-friendly technologies in combination with high-quality management and advanced science, which will develop a new direction -  coal chemistry.

That is why the introduction of innovations in the coal industry today is one of the priorities.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out the main problems of the industry. In particular, it is necessary to develop systematic measures for further development of the electricity market, improve the structure of tariffs, strengthen the enforcement of legal requirements to the protection and development of competition in the electricity sector in the development of projects involving public-private partnerships.

"These issues should be addressed at all levels, with all market participants and provide concrete proposals to further efficient management and sustainable development of the industry,"  A.Issekeshev concluded.
