Personnel for new eclectic locomotives plant in Astana to be trained in Russia and France

ASTANA. June 26. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" National Company, Transmashholding and Alstom companies together with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimo laid foundation of new plant on production of electric locomotives in Astana Saturday.
French company Alstom and Russian Transmashholding plan to train personnel of the plant at their centers in Belfort (France) and Novocherkassk (Russia). The new plant can become one of the leading centers of the modern Kazakh railway engineering.
The plant will be constructed in the industrial zone of Astana near the plant on production of diesel-eclectic locomotives "Locomotive" JSC. The construction of the new plant will be conducted y the Kazakh side and is planned to be accomplished in 2012. Alstom- Transmashholding consortium will supply the equipment for the manufacturing line planned capacity of which is 50-80 locomotives per year.
