Permanent Rep of Kazakhstan to OSCE opened II Preparatory Conference of OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum
He noted that the Conference must promote the understanding of how we can use the potential of international transportations in OSCE region.
K.Abdrakhmanov said that the results and recommendations of the Conference will be important for the second part of the Forum that will be held in Prague in May this year.
OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut in his speech said that the OSCE is ready to assist in integration of transport systems of the region. He stressed that the transport issue was defined as one of the topical issues for the development of cooperation in OSCE region. He noted that one of the tasks is promotion of development of the transportation network in the region aimed at increase of efficiency of transportations and reduction of risks connected with their security and making decisions that would promote development of transport contacts, transit and trade.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valery Voronetskiy noted that the OSCE could promote better transparency of international transport projects, involvement of more interested organizations.
