Past experience should be used for consolidation of nations - Russian Ambassador Mikhail Bocharnikov
On the eve of the Memorial Day of the victims of political repressions Mikhail Bocharnikov said that Russia and Kazakhstan are the countries linked by common history and friendly relations. Today Kazakhstan and Russia see the development of democratic processes and there are no reasons for the return to the totalitarian past. 'This is the merit of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who leads his country on the right path', Mikhail Bocharnikov said.
The Ambassador noted that the repressions affected many peoples in the country. He emphasized the importance of commemorating the victims of the totalitarian past and holding a roundtable on 'Common history and the unity of destinies in the consolidation of the Eurasian space'.
On Saturday the Kazakh participants and guests from around the world visited the memorial erected in commemoration of the victims of political repressions.
