Passengers arriving in Atyrau airport pass special control due to Ebola outbreak

Atyrau international airport has established sanitary and quarantine station, equipped with a thermal imager TI-25 FLUR and contactless pyrometer. All passengers arriving on international flights have to pass through physical inspection. This is due to the outbreak of Ebola virus which killed 84 people between August 14 and 16, informed the head of the sanitary and quarantine station Ainagul Orynbassarova. According to her, a lot of foreign nationals working in the regional oil companies, including those from Africa arrive in Atyrau. The virus, which has hit four West African nations since it broke out in Guinea at the start of the year, is by far the deadliest since Ebola was discovered four decades ago in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
