Passenger dies in head-on collision in Kostanay rgn
One died in a head-on collision on the 24th milometer of Kostanay-Auliekol-Surgan highway near Talapker and Glazunovka villages in Kostanay region, Kazinform Agency correspondent reports.
According to the police, a 36-year-old driver of Volkswagen Transporter car drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a LADA Kalinа vehicle.
As a result of the accident, a LADA Kalina passenger died on the spot from the injuries sustained, and 46-year-old driver and four underage passengers were taken to hospital with different injuries, the press service of the police department of Kostanay region said in a statement.
An investigation into the accident has been launched.
Earlier it was reported that at least 11 people had been killed and 50 others injured in a train accident in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
