Participation in elections is opportunity to contribute to building a fair, democratic, and social Kazakhstan - Ashimbayev
Former Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev cast his ballot in the 2026 Qurultay elections, Qazinform News Agency reports.
He voted at polling station No. 129, located in the National Academic Library in Astana.
Speaking to journalists after voting, Ashimbayev described the elections as historic, noting they mark a continuation of the comprehensive reforms initiated by the Head of State. He emphasized that the adoption of the new Constitution in March laid a new paradigm for the country’s development and a restructured system of state institutions, with the unicameral parliament - the Qurultay - set to play a key role.
Ashimbayev stressed that the elections are an important step in implementing the agenda of Just and Fair Kazakhstan and enacting constitutional provisions. He urged citizens to support the reforms by exercising their right to vote, calling participation both a civic responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to building a fair, democratic, and social Kazakhstan.
He added that these elections are special, opening new opportunities for the nation, and highlighted the importance of strong civic engagement.
