Parliamentary election starts in Uzbekistan

The election of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Local Councils began in Uzbekistan today, October 27, 2024, at 08:00, UzA reported.

According to the Constitution, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan have the right to elect and be elected to representative bodies of state authority.

Each voter has one vote. The right to vote, equality, and freedom of expression are guaranteed by law.

Today, Uzbekistan residents and citizens who live in other countries for work and study are exercising their constitutional right to vote.

According to Article 51 of the Election Code, voting will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the election day.

Voting at the polling stations established at diplomatic and other representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time on the day of the election.

Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan who have reached the age of eighteen before or on election day have the right to vote.
