Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries holds session in Baku

Chairman of the Milli Majilis of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov delivered welcome speech at the opening ceremony. He congratulated representatives of the Parliamentary delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

Chairman of the Majilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament) Ural Mukhamedzhanov from behalf of the Kazakh delegation congratulated his colleagues and participants of the event on realization of the common idea of brotherly Turkic-speaking countries on holding of the first plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly.

He noted that IX summit of Heads of Turkic-speaking countries scheduled on October 2-3 witnesses the development of cooperation between Turkic states.

The Kazakh Speaker informed on work in Kazakhstan held by the initiative of the Head of the State within "Cultural Heritage" program as well. This work proves the necessity of realization of the Kazakh President's idea on establishment of international program "Cultural heritage of Turkic-speaking people".  

Besides, the Kazakh Diplomat briefed the participants of the session on the work within the Kazakh policy in the field of international and interconfessional dialogue - holding of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and functioning of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan and informed on the role of Astana in the coming OSCE chairmanship in 2010.
