Paralympic training center to be opened in Astana in 2014

ASTANA. August 15. KAZINFORM The Republican Paralympic Training Center will be unveiled in the Kazakh capital - Astana in 2014.

It was announced by Tastanbek Yessentayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Sports Affairs and Physical Culture, at Thursday briefing.

"Our state goes to great lengths to support sport, in general, and paralympians, in particular. High results of our athletes at international sports arena just prove it. The new republican paralympic training center that is expected to be opened in Astana in 2014 will offer our paralympians the best conditions to train for upcoming international tournaments," Mr. Yessentayev said.

In his words, KZT 129 million was alloted from the republican budget to build the sports facility.

Eminent athletes - boxer and gold medalist of the 2012 London Olympiad Serik Sapiyev and swimmer and silver medalist of the 1972 Munich Summer Olympic Games Viktor Aboimov attended the press briefing as well.
