Over KZT 27 bln allocated for rehabilitation of disabled people

ASTANA. September 4. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ Over KZT 27 bln was allocated from the national budget for rehabilitation program of people with disabilities for 2009-2011; Chief Expert of the Social Aid Department of the Kazakh Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Zhanagul Dilzhanova has informed of it today at the international seminar.
"As of June, 1 this year the number of disabled people in the country amounted to 475 000 people", - Dilzhanova noted. During 2008 36 681 people of adult population were vowed as people with disabilities 39 per cent of which are women.
"In addition 60 per cent of women with disabilities live in cities and towns whereas 82 per cent of them are the able-bodied population. About 65 per cent of women received I and II degrees of disablement", - she underlined.
