Over 90,000 observers to monitor presidential election in Azerbaijan
More 90,000 observers have been registered for monitoring the extraordinary presidential election in Azerbaijan. Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov said it at a meeting with Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Political Affairs Yousef Al-Dubaie, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to Mazakhir Panahov, 13-14 observers will monitor the election at each polling station.
More than six million people will cast their votes on the election day. All polling stations were provided with necessary equipment. We have created comfortable conditions for voting, he said.
It bears to remind that the representatives of all member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, international observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights will be among the observers.
63 international media organizations from Türkiye, Russia, Germany, Italy, Japan and other countries will monitor the election.
The extraordinary presidential election in Azerbaijan is set to be held on Wednesday, February 7.
The registration of candidates finished on January 9, and preelection campaign completed on February 6.
The presidential election is held in Azerbaijan every seven years. The last election took place on April 11, 2018.
On December 7, 2023, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to hold the extraordinary presidential election in the country.
