Over 6 thousand heads of pedigreed cattle imported to Kazakhstan
"Import of 12 thousand heads of pedigreed cattle to Kazakhstan is planned in 2012 within the framework of the Cattle Meat Export Potential Development Program. Presently, 6204 heads of cattle have been imported to the country," the statement of the Ministry reads, Pm.kz site informs.
Besides, 3873 heads of cattle are imported at the expense of "KazAgro" JSC, 2331 heads of cattle are imported at the expense of the other sources including private funds of agricultural producers. Currently, the applications for import of 15.3 thousand heads of cattle have been approved.
In accordance with the information of the Ministry of Agriculture, in terms of breeds, there are Angus, Simmental, Hereford, Limousin, Aubrac, Brown Swiss cattle breeds imported from the USA, Canada, Czech Republic, Austria, Ireland, Russia, Denmark, Ukraine, France, Australia.
It is worth noting that the farms are established within "Sabyga" Program and within the Cattle Meat Export Potential Development Program. It is planned to establish the network of farms with purchase of not less than 42 thousand heads of cattle in 2012.
Currently, 39.7 thousand heads of breeding stock and 2105 breeding bulls are purchased within the framework of the Program which makes 95% and 150% to the plan. The purchase of 43.9 thousand heads of cattle is currently approved and applications for buying 5.4 thousand more are under consideration now.
