Over 390 thousand people used services of Hospitalization Bureau

ASTANA. June 21. KAZINFORM "Bureau of Hospitalization" portal is functioning within the Unified National Healthcare System. The portal is designed to ensure interaction between hospitals, polyclinics and patients and their rights for free choice of a doctor and medical organization. Thus, 390 thousand Kazakhstanis used the services provided by the portal over 5 months of 2012, according to Pm.kz website.

"Introduction of the Unified National Healthcare System will be completed by 2013. We should essentially improve prophylaxis and quality of primary medical care... special emphasis should be placed on promotion of affordability of medical care for rural population," President Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his Address to the Nation.

As the Republican Center of Healthcare Development reported, over 390 thousand Kazakhstanis used the services provided by "Bureau of Hospitalization" portal over 5 months of 2012. This is 6 thousand people more compared to the corresponding period of 2011. 90.5% or 353 324 applied patients were hospitalized.

It is worth noting that the number of hospitalized people also increased by 4.1% against the figures of the last year. As the Center informed, 85.2% of Kazakhstanis preferred to take treatment in the local hospitals, 13.2% of patients choose clinics of the national level.

95% of people were hospitalized in Kostanay, Zhambyl and West Kazakhstan regions. The share of rural residents makes 43.8%, the press service of the Republican Center informs.

"Bureau of Hospitalization" portal ensures interaction between the hospitals, polyclinics and patients. Kazakhstanis can find information about bed availability and monitor their line on www.bg.eisz.kz  website.

Presently, all healthcare organizations of Kazakhstan participating in the scheduled hospitalization process are involved in the functioning of the portal. These measures are aimed to ensure affordability, transparency of rendered medical services and allow patients to use their rights for free choice of medical organization.
