Over 2,000 from 18 countries run Astana City Marathon
The Astana City Marathon given the Road Race Label status by World Athletics brought together over 2,000 runners from 18 countries in the Kazakh capital, Kazinform News Agency cites the city akimat.


The race gathered 2,300 runners not only from Astana but also from 18 countries, including Kyrgyzstan, China, the Netherlands, Kenya, Russia, and France. Of which 383 successfully completed the 10 km race.

73 athletes finished the 42 km race. Daniyar Ormangali from Taldykorgan was the first to cross the finish line clocking 2 hours 35 minutes 10 seconds. Amir Baitukanov from Ust Kamenogorsk finished second within 2 hours 35 minutes 29 seconds, while Astana’s Aman Nurkeldy ran the race under 2 hours 36 minutes 58 seconds.


Besides, Run for Autism marathon brought together 2,000 in the Kazakh capital on May 18.
