Over 200 Belarusian companies partake in BelarusEXPO 2011 in Kazakhstan

MINSK. September 10. KAZINFORM Over 200 Belarusian companies have displayed their products at the national exhibition BelarusEXPO 2011 in Kazakhstan. The forum is held on 7-10 September, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

According to BelTA, head of the Belarusian delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Valery Ivanov took part in the opening of the exhibition. He pinpointed the importance of the forum for the development of the Belarusian-Kazakh economic relations. This country is a strategic partner of Belarus in Central Asia.

The exposition has featured products and scientific achievements of Belarusian automobile, light, food, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, wood processing, construction, agricultural industries. It has displayed Belarusian achievements in communications, transport and logistics, science and technologies, tourism, healthcare and education.

On 8 September Valery Ivanov met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Aset Isekeshev. They discussed the preparation to the eighth session of the Belarus-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation which will take place in Gomel on 6-7 October, the Belarus-Kazakhstan roadmap of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation for 2012-2013.

Valery Ivanov met with Deputy Head of Almaty Erbol Shormanov. The parties agreed to deliver Belarusian agricultural products to Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is eager to set up joint ventures to assemble Belarusian municipal and transport equipment and ship such equipment to the country.

The program of the exhibition included meetings of the Belarus-Kazakhstan sub-commission for the development of cooperation and bilateral trade and the Belarus-Kazakhstan scientific and technical commission. The parties considered new joint industrial, scientific and technical projects which will be approved at the session of the intergovernmental commission.
